[Futurology] The future of dynasties

What is a dynasty?

Wikipedia definition: a dynasty is a sequence of rulers from the same family, usually in the context of a monarchical system, but sometimes also appearing in republics. A dynasty may also be referred to as a "house", "family" or "clan", among others.

Merriam-Webster definition: 1: a succession of rulers of the same line of descent; a dynasty that ruled China for nearly 300 years. 2: a powerful group or family that maintains its position for a considerable time; born into a powerful political dynasty; a baseball dynasty.

We know about the the gens Julia in ancient Rome, Golden Horde of Gengis Khan or the Rothschild family. Dynasties used to be military, political or aristocratic in nature. Sometimes even all three. How will this change for the future? Will we have a Bezos dynasty, the Zuckerberg clan or the Heineken family as multi generational points of influence in society?

With the disappearance of monarchies, net reduction in wars per capita, the future of dynasties seems to lie with the ultra rich. As a separate argument, they might not even try to gain political power, as some of the platforms can and probably are above politics. Louis Vuitton cannot be outlawed and Facebook might be more influential than politics.
